Will I need gloves?
For sanitary and safety reasons, gloves are required for heavy bag use. Heavy bags are used in our kickboxing and boxing classes. We have gently used gloves available for people to use for their first class, but eventually you will need your own pair. We sell a variety of boxing and MMA gloves in our Pro Shop and in our online store.
Will I need any additional equipment?
For our POUND, Jungshin, and yoga classes, we provide all the equipment you need:
Drumsticks for POUND
Long and short wooden swords for Jungshin
Mats, straps, blocks, bolsters and blankets for yoga
What's the difference between MMA gloves and boxing gloves? Which should I use?
MMA gloves are fingerless gloves with padding across the back of the hand and knuckles. Thickness of the padding depends on the style of the glove, and they come in typical "small, medium, etc" sizes. The benefit to these is a cooler, lighter fit.

Can I bring my friend(s)?
Absolutely! The more the merrier. Bringing friends is an excellent way to ease out of your comfort zone and have fun exercising, and a great way to stay accountable. Pick up complimentary class passes for your friends and receive a gift of gratitude when your friend enrolls at Iron Lotus Gym.
Do you have childcare?
At this time we do not have a daycare license in order to provide childcare, however we do have contained areas in visual range where children may play or sit quietly and wait for members.
Are there open gym times?
Yes. Iron Lotus Gym is open Monday through Friday from 9am-9pm. We have a treadmill, an elliptical, stationary bikes, a TRX machine, weights, and weight equipment available for use anytime, including while classes are in session.
Which classes are better for cardio?
Athough all of our classes provide you with a great cardio workout, Warrior Workout, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Kickboxing HIIT are our most cardio intensive classes and are the biggest calorie burners.
Which classes are better for low impact?
For low impact workouts, we recommend our yoga, tai chi, Jungshin and POUND classes. Yoga and tai chi are low impact by default, and Jungshin and POUND can be easily modified. Kickboxing can be done without a bag for a low impact high cardio workout.
Is there a mimimum/maximum number of classes required?
At Iron Lotus Gym we encourage you to attend as many classes as your schedule allows. We recommend a minimum of 2-3 classes per week in order to see benefits from our program.
Am I required to sign a contract for a membership at Iron Lotus Gym?
Iron Lotus Gym has multiple options for memberships including packages of classes (10-packs), month-to-month memberships and trial offers. However, you will receive the best pricing in exchange for commitment to a 6 month or 12 month program.
